Sunday Mornings

----

Our church has started a new phase of worship services.
Wanner Church will be hosting small group gatherings for worship starting at 9:00am each Sunday.
You are invited and welcome to attend either one.

Looking for God
9 AM, Fellowship Hall (downstairs)

“LOOKING for GOD” is something we do, consciously or unconsciously. Maybe you’re aware of cynicism or disinterest in God-related stuff. Maybe your curious about Jesus. Maybe you have “known God all your life”, but you’re looking for more of God, and for help in walking the Jesus Way. All who are looking for God are welcome to search with us. We will help each other:

- to recognize God’s presence,
- to experience the wisdom, healing & enriching love of God,
- so that we can live lovingly like Jesus did.

Other than this stated purpose, there will be two formalities:
1) We will start with a hymn, share uplifting experiences and pray.
2) We will close by sharing personal concerns & needs, then pray for each other.

Mostly, we’ll spend time with inspirational/teaching articles, Bible-related questions, sermons/talks we have heard, reading/singing/discussing hymns, exploring traditional beliefs and practices, etc.

We’ll encourage each other to:
- participate to the degree of personal comfort;
- use language understood by those less acquainted with the Bible;
- respectfully express opinions;
- respect the opinions/questions of others - no matter how much we may disagree.

Gospel Dialogue
9 AM, Sanctuary

During our Gospel Dialogue, we will centre our attention on God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. You are cordially invited to join us for the Gospel Service in the sanctuary at 9:00 AM on Sunday. We will gather around a circle centred on Christ's candle. Throughout the service, there will be time to sing hymns, share concerns, and pray for one another before and after the gospel dialogue. All are welcome! The pastors will also participate and lead the group by sharing comments, singing, and praying as guided by the Holy Spirit.

We will have radical readings of the Gospel text with open hearts to the Holy Spirit that will inspire us to participate in a Gospel dialogue to understand what it means to live in the Gospel context. Everyone is encouraged to participate in the process. However, not everyone attending the process has to make comments. Those who talk less may say something important. Participants will comment, but the true author of the commentaries is the Holy Spirit, who inspires our comments. The purpose is to comprehend and apply its implications to our concerns in our church and society. Please see more details in the following link.

Peaceful Practices

Sunday mornings starting April 14th, 10:15 - 11:15 AM in the lower auditorium at Wanner. This group will work our way through over 9 sessions on Sunday mornings to June 16th (skipping June 9th). This curriculum will help attendees learn the skills and practices to work through conflict and divisive issues. Conflict is a normal part of life. It arises in our workplaces, in our churches and with our families. The curriculum invites participants to follow Jesus' call to peacemaking through dialogue with each other. If you are interested in participating in this discussion series, please be in touch with either Dennis Flaming or Wendy Adema to receive a link to the curriculum. Reading the short chapters in advance of sessions is highly recommended.
